Like millions of Americans, I’m a Twilight fan. There, I’ve said it. I love Edward and Bella — especially Edward. I’ve watched each movie countless times, all with the same silly grin on my face. I’ve daydreamed about those romantic encounters and the movie soundtracks are ingrained in my head.

I’ve always been a romantic at heart. Give me a good sentimental movie and I’m there. Tissues in hand. No wonder why Engagement and Bridal Sessions are such an enjoyment for me — it’s like being able to capture fairy tale love stories in real life.

When I met April and Brian, the ‘Twilight Wheels’ started turning in my head. I just couldn’t help myself……

April was working at a restaurant on the lake when a stranger (Brian) walked in with his friends. He watched her from afar and made a few discrete inquiries. For nearly a year, Brian continued to come to the restaurant hoping to catch the eye of beautiful girl with the brown hair. And then one day, it happened. Their eyes met. The spark was ignited.

After April finished her shift, Brian was waiting with his boat, and took her for a moonlight sail along the lake. After talking for hours beneath the stars, they shared their first kiss.
Just like Edward and Bella, they found that opposites do, in fact, attract. While Brian has the patience of a saint, is organized and unwavering, April tends to be disorganized and impatient. While April tears about the house looking for a misplaced item, Brian calmly looks about, locates the item, and hands it over with a smile on his face. And the outcome? True love, of course!

During the first photo session at Boone Hall Plantation, I could visibly see the couple’s love and devotion to each other. The way Brian looked at April was the stuff movies are made of. Each moment, each look, each smile they shared was like a best seller. I found myself snapping pictures while wearing that same silly grin I reserved for the romantic movies. I was hooked.

As we finished our session at Isle of Palms, a barrier island on the South Carolina coast, it was nearing high tide and the day was coming to a close. I had that same feeling you get near the end of a great movie and everyone lives happily ever after.
And then I heard the soundtrack start playing in my head ……..

“And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought Your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more.”
