It’s not always that we can ‘come home’ again, but when the opportunity presented itself to photograph a former classmate in West Virginia, I jumped at the chance to travel the roads that I once called home.

The location…..ah, breathtaking. We shot on a private farm in Glenville, West Virginia. Thankfully, the bride agreed to travel almost two hours to get there, but the moment she arrived and witnessed the amazing beauty this place had to offer…she had no regrets! Rolling hills, gorgeous ponds, fields, fences, barns. I love photographing in locations like this because the natural beauty of the area and the subject complement beautifully. There are no distractions, and honestly, I think I could photograph every single session here! Add in the mixture of amazing lighting, a gorgeous bride and a stunning Maggie Sottero gown from Elizabeth Michael’s Boutique and I’ve got one of my favorite sessions to date!

Brittany was up for anything. She simply said “I trust you!” and we spent the next few hours shooting. In total, we probably walked well over a mile, got bitten by mosquitoes, and then she patiently waited while I tested out a new lighting system (see last image!) This girl never complains! And talk about patience being a virtue –  just wait until you read about her wedding day on the blog! To say she had to overcome some “difficulties” is a huge understatement, but yet again…she did it with patience, poise and class.

I’m so thankful that she and her amazing husband, Rodney, had me photograph their journey from engagement to marriage! Stay tuned for their wedding blog coming soon!
